A City('s) Love

“I have looked down across the city from high windows. It is then that the great buildings lose reality and take on their magical powers. They are immaterial; that is to say, one sees but the lighted windows.”

Book Thoughts: Naturally Tan by Tan France

I was very lucky to receive the eARC of Naturally Tan from Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press in exchange for my honest review. I love Queer Eye, and I was very intrigued about Tan’s book, especially as he is one of the few prominent South Asian figures, and the only openly gay South Asian (that I know of).

Book Thoughts: Again, but Better by Christine Riccio

I was very lucky to be sent the eARC of Again, but Better by Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press; this was a release I have been highly anticipating. That being said, let me start out with: I really, really, really wanted to like this book. Sadly, Again, but Better, didn’t live up to my expectations.

Playlist Series: "got a london heart"

During winter, I tend to listen to acoustic songs, along with a mix of soft/indie pop. I generally need songs that make me feel things; for some reason, the cold winter air makes me crave to be able to connect with singers and their lyrics. This playlist, for me, is the embodiment of that. These are the songs I need when I sip my morning coffee, or what I listen to while I’m watching the lines on the street blur at night.

Book Thoughts: Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas

In the finale to the Throne of Glass series, Maas concludes with a tale of epic proportions, filled with battles waged on a scale unparalleled to the rest of the series. Needless to say, a lot needed to happen in this book. I had a lot of conflicting thoughts about this book, but let me preface my thoughts by saying: I enjoyed this reading experience. Overall, I liked the book. I didn’t love it, as I did with Empire of Storms.

Book Thoughts: Anne of Green Gables

Recently, I decided to read the Anne of Green Gables series. A children’s book with a strong, female heroine, and a love interest that respects her? That is literally right up my alley. Of course, I immediately got my hands on the books and started reading.

Playlist Series: "long nights, daydreams"

These are songs meant for sunny days and long drives, for when you’re happy with a tint of something else, but you’re not sure what. I made this when I was longing for both home and adventure, for times when I felt both lonely and loved, sequestered and free.
