Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Premiere

It's undeniable that everything JK Rowling touches becomes magic, and while waiting for the premiere to start, I've never been so sure of that in my life. Despite my aching feet and the looming clouds, the air around the red carpet was rampant with tension: fans clustered around pens, waiting for the stars to arrive.

Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona is one city I've always longed to see, and it did not disappoint. From its beautiful views to streets rampant with cute cafes and coffee shops, I never wanted to leave.

Seeing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

This production blew all my expectations away. It was a visual masterpiece, music transitioning from scene to scene as actors on the stage moved in carefully choreographed movements that only added to the intrigue of the scenes. Each set was magnificent, its strength relying in the detail etched into every single piece onstage.

Harry Potter Warner Bros. Studio Tour

Not to make a bad pun, but this was easily one of the most magical experiences of my life. It baffles me that J.K. Rowling once sat down to write a book, and from her mind came this beautiful world that has turned into reality for so many. She created a whole universe in her head; and so many people went to such great lengths to replicate her imagination and make her ideas real and tangible.

Book Thoughts: Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas

*Do NOT read if you have not read any of the other Throne of Glass novels.*

Empire of Storms begins on a plot built on subtlety, a minefield of politics, and characters struggling to find their way back to each other, to dig themselves out of hellhole after hellhole, in a world that threatens to cleave them apart daily. Underneath each page is a hint of violence, each word carrying a promise of bloodshed in the near future, a byproduct of a book which has a heroine that is both an assassin and a queen.

Playlist Series: "there's a color in your eyes..."

Playlists are a form of therapy for me, and every so often I'll make a playlist to organize the new music I've downloaded and to group together songs that are perfect for a specific mood.

I just recently made a new playlist, and the full tracklisting can be found in this post.

Book Thoughts: When We Collided by Emery Lord

Lord constructs a perfect tale of love, without the novel being your stereotypical 'love story.' The main characters are exceedingly different: Vivi is one of the most vibrant characters I've ever read; her excitement bleeds off the page, reminiscent of the splattered paint that decorates the cover of the book. Jonah, on the other hand, reminds me of a rock in the middle of an ocean; he's worn down, but still stands. Their lives are almost like a tapestry, falling apart, piece by piece, as the story unravels.
