Hi, I'm Ariel.

Welcome to my blog, which is a quick trip inside of my mind. I write about the books I love, the places I’ve been, the music I’ve found, and the thoughts I’ve had along the way. Hope you enjoy!

House of MinaLima

This is the design studio that created every single design in the Harry Potter movie franchise, from the Marauder's Map to Hogwarts, a History. It's located right around the corner from the Palace Theater, where Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is playing. The first floor is a tiny gift shop, jam packed with prints and postcards for sale.

On the right corner of the gift shop, there's a tiny spiral staircase, in which almost every individual stair is plastered with Harry's acceptance letter to Hogwarts. The walls are decorated with various designs from the movies, which change with the theme of each floor. The first floor is dedicated to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: there, you can find everything from Newt Scamander's wanted poster to the newspapers that are shown at the beginning of the movie.

The other floors are dedicated solely to the eight films of Harry Potter: in one, the entire floor is the Maurader's Map. They have everything you could possibly dream of, with everything from the Hogwarts school crest, pages and pages of the Daily Prophet, to a print of Dumbledore's memories. The employees are all friendly and nice: one of the times I went, a worker told my me and my flatmate how to get Cursed Child tickets, and another time, a worker talked about how awful Daniel Radcliffe's handwriting was. I went a total of three times, and each time, it was just as fascinating. The designers also spend some time in the store, so I got to meet Eduardo Lima, who was incredibly kind and gracious, and thank him for his work.
