It's undeniable that everything JK Rowling touches becomes magic, and while waiting for the premiere to start, I've never been so sure of that in my life. Despite my aching feet and the looming clouds, the air around the red carpet was rampant with tension: fans clustered around pens, waiting for the stars to arrive.
This production blew all my expectations away. It was a visual masterpiece, music transitioning from scene to scene as actors on the stage moved in carefully choreographed movements that only added to the intrigue of the scenes. Each set was magnificent, its strength relying in the detail etched into every single piece onstage.
Not to make a bad pun, but this was easily one of the most magical experiences of my life. It baffles me that J.K. Rowling once sat down to write a book, and from her mind came this beautiful world that has turned into reality for so many. She created a whole universe in her head; and so many people went to such great lengths to replicate her imagination and make her ideas real and tangible.
After finishing the screenplay, I had very mixed feelings about Cursed Child, to put it bluntly. I enjoyed venturing back into that world; the Harry Potter world was undoubtedly a main part of my childhood, as it was to many others. However, it was as if I was looking through a blurred version of that world: so many things were different, yet it was pretending to be the same.
